Through this semester we have learned that leisure is sever different things not just being lazy and that it covers thousands of different activities. We have also learned that there are certain things that keep us from doing these activities. This weekend was defiantly one of those times. My goal this semester was to take part in 10 different kinds of calibrations but as a student class work and work get in the way. The day started out with waking up past the alarm, then the quickest shower I have ever taken, and then speeding to class to make it on time. The long day of class was full of lectures and PowerPoint slides like always. That night was planned with friends and parties, food and fun. But we all know how plans go….I get a phone call right about the time I was going to crack up a ice cold one. It was my wonderful work place. Someone had called in sick and the need me to come in…..my first reaction was hellllll no! But I began to think…..one thing I learned was leisure cost money, and I was kind of lacking that. So this little Korean kid did the grown up thing and headed to work. The night was full of annoying people and cleaning gas pumps all night. The night ended and I headed home. In the car I began to think about this project. I began to think about what celebration really is. To break it down very simple it is to celebrate an event or objective. In today’s society finding a job is a tremendous accomplishment, many people struggle to put food on the table every day. People in other countries struggle to just stay alive. The thought then hit me, in a way going to class and going to work was celebrating being alive by taking advantages of the privileges I have to better myself. It might not be a leisure activity but in a way it was a celebration of life
